What is the going rate for a painter and decorator nationally?
If you google this you’ll likely get to Checkatrade who claim they can give you verified information about how much you can expect to pay for a decorator. Frankly, I think the information is incorrect. Locally, you can expect decorators to charge around £170 to £220 labour per day, but this depends on the job. Some may charge higher because they are getting the job done quicker using multiple decorators or higher skill levels needed. You might be thinking “I can just buy a can of paint from B&Q, why pay for a decorator?” Please remember that buying paint is just one part of a massive process that takes skill, time and hard work. Prep is key when painting and I have a dustless sander so you don’t get dust all over the house when preparing a wall, woodwork or ceiling. My knowledge of trade paints is up to date giving you not only better paint, but the best paint for your needs. I am as eco friendly as I can be using an electric van so I don’t charge mileage. I will source paint for you, charging just what the shops would so you aren’t out of pocket. I own professional equipment including spray equipment should the job require it, can cut in very well and I make sure to take the used brushes and rollers home to wash. I can be trusted with your home, one customer saying recently they “feel and incredible sense of calm” when I am around.
What can you expect from me?
Firstly, get in contact, tell me a bit about the job and where you are based and what time you’re needing it to be done. I will then get back to you and arrange a visit. This visit is free and so I can get an idea about wall quality, dimensions, any other quick jobs that need to be done in the house etc. Then I will go away with your email address and send you through a quote.
If you accept then let me know and we can sort a date, whether you want me to sort professional paints and materials and what to do about getting in the property. I can then come and complete the work and send you an invoice at the end of the job which will need to be paid within 7 days from the date of issue.
